This is an important and prominent issue because the NCAA has gotten involved in a sexual abuse scandal and turned it into a sports matter by punishing the football organization – and others who had nothing to do with the scandal – with heavy sanctions. While there is still time to make this right, the sanctions that deal with football should be removed. The only sanction necessary is the $60 million fine because it helps sex abuse victims. The other sanctions do nothing to help anyone.
