We request that you secure the liberation of Samariya Nadeem, a 16 year old Christian Pakistani girl who has been kidnapped and forced into marriage and conversion to Islam!

The Issue

Save Samariya!

Samariya Nadeem, a 16 year old, Christian, Pakistani girl has been kidnapped and forced to marry a rich, Muslim landowner.

This incident occurred in 270-TDA Layyah District, Punjab, on January 16th 2014 when she was on her way to school.

So far, the police has failed to bring any legal action against this local wealthy landowner who has abducted the girl because of the influence he wields. Police investigators have neither been able to hold any hearings with the bruised victim.

Anonymous police sources has confirmed that the girl was "abducted" and forced to marry. However, an Islamic cleric involved in the case has stated that it was "not illegal to abduct and convert non-Muslims".

Kidnappings and forced marriages are a major issue in Pakistan, especially in Southern Punjab and in the interior of Sindh province. It is common in the region that young, religious minority, women and girls are forcefully converted and married away to influential landlords who keep them as slaves.

Take action to save Samariya! Sign this petition, spread it and also write to the Chief Minister of Punjab, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif,  on his facebookpage and twitter!  (https://www.facebook.com/Sharif.Shehbaz)

https://twitter.com/CMShehbaz  Always be polite in your writing!

(  Tagg Mr Sharif in your posts to have it spread the most!)

You might also write to the Pakistani National Assembly:  assembly@na.gov.pk as well as to the Pakistani embassy of your country.

 A letter you might use:

"As  a fellow citizen of the  Globe, I request that you secure the liberation of Samariya Nadeem, a 16 year old Christian Pakistani girl who has been kidnapped and forced into marriage and conversion to Islam. I request that the Pakistani government takes action to rescue Samariya, and to arrest & prosecute her abductors.

Furthermore I request that the Pakistani government protect the human rights of religious minorities, and act to terminate the kidnappings and forced marriage- conversions of religious minority girls.”
