Starcraft is one of the world's most popular games. In addition, it has one of the greatest stories in gaming history; action, love, betrayal, revenge, its all there. Blizzard and movie studios, as well as the public have a lot to gain by making a movie around it.

Also, we've had movies based on video games before such as Tomb Raider, Doom, Mortal Kombat, Resident Evil, and the upcoming Mass Effect movie, so its not a new thing. But it would mean alot to the millions of Starcraft and Blizzard fans out there.
