نحن، سكان وأصدقاء المعادي، نطالب بوقف وإلغاء مشروع معرض السيارات المقترح عند مدخل المعادي، لما سيترتب عليه من إزالة عدد كبير من الأشجار والمساس بالمساحات الخضراء القائمة في هذا الموقع.

إن أشجار مدخل المعادي ليست مجرد أشجار يمكن الاستغناء عنها؛ فهي جزء أساسي من الطابع المميز للمنطقة، وتوفر الظل، وتساهم في تحسين جودة الهواء، وتخفيف الحرارة والتلوث، والحفاظ على البيئة في منطقة تعاني بالفعل من كثافة مرورية وعمرانية كبيرة.

وتأتي هذه المخاوف في وقت صدرت فيه توجيهات حكومية حديثة تؤكد ضرورة الحفاظ على الأشجار والحد من قطعها. ولذلك، فإن إقامة مشروع جديد يستلزم إزالة الأشجار والمساحات الخضراء تتعارض مع الحاجة إلى حماية ما تبقى من الغطاء الأخضر في المنطقة.

نحن لا نعارض التطوير أو الاستثمار، ولكننا نرفض إقامة هذا المشروع تحديدًا على حساب أشجار ومساحات خضراء عند مدخل المعادي.

مطالبنا:

• إلغاء مشروع معرض السيارات المقترح بالكامل.
• وقف أي أعمال أو إجراءات تمهّد لإزالة الأشجار أو تنفيذ المشروع في الموقع.
  الحفاظ على جميع الأشجار والمساحات الخضراء القائمة عند مدخل المعادي.
• عدم تخصيص هذا الموقع لأي مشروع يستلزم إزالة الأشجار أو تدمير المساحات الخضراء القائمة.
• نشر المعلومات والتفاصيل المتعلقة بالمشروع وأي تقييمات بيئية أجريت بشأن تأثيره على المنطقة وسكانها. 

 

مدخل المعادي بوابة لمنطقتنا وجزء من هويتها الخضراء. لا ينبغي أن يكون ثمن إقامة معرض سيارات هو فقدان أشجارنا ومساحاتنا الخضراء

 

We, residents and friends of Maadi, are calling for the complete cancellation of the proposed car showroom project at the entrance of Maadi, due to the significant removal of trees and loss of existing green space that the project would entail.

The trees at Maadi’s entrance are not simply trees that can be removed and replaced. They are an important part of the area’s character, providing shade, contributing to cleaner air, and helping reduce heat and pollution in an area already experiencing significant traffic and urban development.

These concerns come at a time when there have been recent government directives emphasizing the protection of trees and restricting their removal. Developing a new project that requires the removal of established trees and green space should therefore be viewed in the context of the need to preserve and protect the area’s remaining greenery.

We are not against development or investment, but we oppose this particular project being built at the expense of the trees and green spaces at the entrance of Maadi.

Our Demands:

• Cancel the proposed car showroom project in its entirety.
• Stop any work or procedures that would lead to tree removal or implementation of the project at this site.
• Protect all existing trees and green spaces at the entrance of Maadi.
• Do not allocate this site to any project that requires the removal of existing trees or destruction of green space.
• Make available to the public the project details and any environmental assessments concerning its impact on the area and its residents.

Maadi’s entrance is a gateway to our neighborhood and an important part of its green identity. Building a car showroom should not come at the cost of our trees and green spaces.
