ABC News Radio digs into Zombie DAs

This morning on ABC News Radio, reporter Lucy Barbour provided more information about the Zombie DAs and the boom in housing development throughout NSW.

One example is the proposed development in Tura Beach. However, the Bega Valley Shire Council were "unavailable for comment".

"The developer is open to developing on a different site, but trying to get the Council to discuss that idea has been difficult".

Any projects like this that could threaten the habitats of federally listed species such as the Yellow-Bellied Glider and Long-Nosed Potoroo must be submitted to the Federal Environment Department for review.

"A spokesperson from the department told the ABC it has heard nothing from the Bega Valley Shire Council".
