Cultural officials in Spain are planning to undo Cecilia Gilmenez' radical reworking of Elias Garcia Martinez' clichéd fresco in the Sanctuary of Mercy Church near Zaragoza. We feel this is a huge mistake, as the new work is a cultural treasure and should be preserved. We call on Juan Maria Ojeda and the other Zaragoza city councillors to recognise the new version for the masterpiece it is and take all possible steps to maintain it.
