Cobb Planning Commission votes to hold Z-26 until the July 2 Planning Meeting

At the June 4th Planning Commission, Z-26 was heard by the Planning Commissioners.

Attorney Parks Huff submitted a revised plan that reduced the number of pumps to 4, or 8 counting each side.  A parking agreement had not been worked out with the adjacent business owners and their attorney Mr. Jordan, said they remain opposed to the application.  Carol Brown spoke in favor of granting the property owner a NRC rezoning, but deny the Convenience Store and fuel pumps.

There are a number of retail and dining establishments which would generate less traffic and serve the community better than a 3rd gas station at the Canton Jamerson intersection, which would bring the total to 12 gas stations on the 5 mile corridor.

Commissioner Lindstrom had made a motion to approve a rezoning of NRC, but not allow fuel sales.  She then withdrew her motion and instead, suggested the case be held until July.
