Hello Ladies & Gentlemen,

It's been a while since I last posted an update here because I have been busy IRL but I didn't forget about our fight. I keep being active on Twitter & Instagram mainly.
But since there has been a few important Panzer Dragoon related news lately, I thought I would share here for those who might have missed them.

As you probably know, Futatsugi and Yoshida were at the GDC 2019 conference. While a lot of information shared was already known, some of it was new.
The full presentation is available on youtube here.

If you were not convinced already, you can tell by watching this video that they put a lot of hard work into the making of Panzer Dragoon Saga (Azel PD RPG). So we are really hoping the game gets a chance to reach a wider audience whether with a port/emulated version or with a remake or better, BOTH for preservation.

Asked about the source code for Panzer Dragoon Saga, Futatsugi-san mentions he heard of a rumor something might have been found. Let's not have our hopes too high but things like this are quite recent as it was always said it was lost before.
A shorter clip of this Q&A is available here.

During GDC, Kotaku journalist Chris Kohler also interviewed Futatsugi and there is some pretty interesting information here:

“I’m sure this hasn’t come out anywhere, but within Sega, there’s actually been plans every now and then for new Panzer Dragoon games,” Futatsugi said. “One did come to fruition—obviously Orta is a game that came out—but there have been all sorts of other ones that just didn’t go the distance.”

Also

The Panzer Dragoon series is also getting something of a revival this year, with remakes of the first two games coming from the Polish game developer Forever Entertainment. “If those sell well, it’s always possible that there might be a chance for something new to happen with that series,” Futatsugi said. “I’d be lying if I said there wasn’t a part of me considering approaching Sega for the license to Panzer Dragoon.”

This is encouraging if you ask me. One of the main goals when creating this community was making him want to return to this world & lore.
So for now, it seems we are on the right track.
And that's mainly thanks to you the fans.

So keep joining us, keep making noise about us on Twitter, Instagram, Facebok.
Hopefully we will discover more soon about the upcoming first two Panzer Dragoon games.
And next something with Saga might happen. And who knows, maybe more. Based on what we just read above. Futatsugi is clearly hinting at something new, not even a remake of Saga so let's continue to push.
As for me, I clearly believe in the strength of the lore of Panzer Dragoon to be extended in a JRPG or action RPG game. Definitely in a game with a strong narration. If it is another rail shooter, well I will welcome it but will be cautious that it might never break the shell of its original niche.

Thanks for your continuous support and we need you, more than ever.

Take care,

Panzer Dragoon World
