Freedom for my brother Brett Kamerud

My family was lead to believe that my brother was going to be released from Federal Prison on June 21, 2017 after being there for a crime he didn't commit since November of 2001. We were both convicted by a jury of conspiracy to sell methamphetamine with no physical evidence whatsoever. Testimony of informants who were getting decades off their sentences was the only evidence presented that was directly connected to either of us. My parents and I are devastated. The only reason I am here now is because President Barack Obama commuted my sentence. Brett has no release date at this time. Federal law says inmates are to be given up to 12 months of half way house/home confinement time to lessen the impact and increase the chance of reintegration into society. The Minnesota Residential Reentry Services office feels that only 7-9 months are appropriate in violation of the law. My brother is not the person he was. He was been sober for years. He just wants a chance to live the rest of his life as a contributing member of society. This Federal department is denying him that chance. Please call your Senator or US Representative and demand that action be taken. Thank you
