Currently the foster care system contains many problems with children growing out of the system. In California over 4000 children "age-out" meaning that due to them becoming legal adults they are dropped for the system. Aging out in the foster care system leaves most children at a low level of education as stated in the Princeton Future of children Journal Volume 14 number one. Not only that but those who tend to grow out of the system may experience higher rate of unemployment, arrest, convictions, and homelessness. With the help of of our government we can reform the system to provide more aid to those who go through foster care. We can do this by initializing more programs and asking for more resources to fund these programs. Some examples for this may be mentorships or tutoring for these children.
