Signing has officially closed for the petition. I met with Dean Morrison yesterday and had a wonderful, constructive conversation. He remarked that he believes this merger, while difficult, is a great opportunity for collaboration. He also said that while Utah State is here, the arts will be here. 

We discussed some possible names for the new college, and he addressed some concerns I expressed about what this merger/name change means for alumni of the Caine College of the Arts.
