S. O. S: NIGERIAN STUDENTS STRANDED ABROAD

S. O. S: NIGERIAN STUDENTS STRANDED ABROAD
The Issue
NDDC postgraduate scholarship scheme is turning out to be more of a curse than a blessing as scholars sent abroad to various countries have been left stranded due to non payment of tuition fees for some, lack of payment of maintenance/upkeep for others and none remittance of five hundred thousand (#500) takeoff grant aimed at facilitating the travel plans of successful scholars.
Investigation by some of the scholars revealed that the outstanding payments have been approved by the MD of NDDC. Unfortunately however, the EDFA (Executive director of finance and administration) has refused to append his signature to the payment hence hundreds of Nigerian scholars youths studying under the auspicies of NDDC have been left stranded, struggling to make ends meet while the primary aim of going abroad; to study, is almost being defeated.
To exacerbate issues further, NDDC has called for application for the 2017 postgraduate scholarship scheme when they have not paid a backlog of scholars dating back to 2015 (for PhD scholars)! What then is the rationale behind calling for fresh application? To subject more Nigerians to the pains and struggles of living and studying in foreign lands without support from their sponsors? To ridicule further the image of the country by forcing scholars to work odd jobs at odd hours just to earn minimum wage in oder o survive?
NIGER DELTA DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION, do the needful, honourable and humane THING.
RELEASE THE OUTSTANDING PAYMENT OF YOUR POSTGRADUATE SCHOLARS!!!!
