UPDATE NOV 14TH - To date there is no manager to replace Shanika and staff are left feeling unsure and vulnerable. In fact one of the boards HR committee asked a volunteer who they thought could work as manager. This gross lack of planning on behalf of the Executive Director and supported by the NHS board leaves animal care attendants and animals at risk. An email went out on Monday November 14th from the NHS public relations asking for help for animal care as there is no plan in place since dismissing Shanika. In fact they have stated that the "I do not have any update on the situation at the shelter at this time but I am reaching out for your help. I anticipate the next couple of weeks may be hectic and I am asking if any of you would be able to assist with cleaning and care for the animals." Under the guidance of an experienced Executive Director and the Board of Directors, leaving staff unsupported and animals potentially at risk due to lack of care should never happen.
