CDV (Canine Distemper Virus) infects and kills many animals each year. It is spread through the biting of one infected animal to another non-infected animal. A disease that was originally spread between dogs is now infecting and killing many other species, including the endangered Darwin's fox. Darwin's foxes are endemic to the Chiloe Islands of Chile, and are a vital part of its ecosystem. Currently, a major threat to their existence is the CDV virus. Luckily, there is a vaccine available to help prevent CDV, but unfortunately, many dogs never receive this vaccination, since it has never been a requirement. Your signature could help change this.
