The Woodland Caribou have recently been considered endangered, therefore we must protect them before they become extinct. People are still hunting them such as Ironbound Outfitters who even encourage people to hunt them saying that they have a "100% running success rate" and that they've "never had a hunter go home without a Caribou". Mayflower Outfitters also encourage this hunting. 

Woodland Caribou are often hunted for their antlers, skin, and manes. They are a crucial part of the mountain range ecosystem. Without them, the food chain will become more unbalanced. Their predators, such as coyotes, will diminish and could possibly become endangered themselves
