We know how heartbreaking June is for everyone who cares about animals. As the Yulin Dog Meat "Festival" unfolds each year, it can leave you feeling angry, helpless, and wondering what more can be done.
That is why our team members in Yulin, very grateful that so many of you transformed those emotions into hope by joining this year's International Pet Appreciation Movement.
This year marked the fourth International Pet Appreciation, and your response was extraordinary. Every photo you shared and every message of support became a powerful reminder that kindness is stronger than cruelty. Our team members in China, especially those working in Yulin, were deeply encouraged by the overwhelming show of global support.
Participants from China, Taiwan, France, the United Kingdom, Mexico, and the United States stood together for dogs and cats. Events included supporter lunches in London, community picnics in California, and the largest International Pet Appreciation event we've ever held in Taipei, Taiwan.
Every gathering, every photo, and every act of kindness sends an important message: dogs and cats are family, not food. Thanks to you, that message is reaching farther every year.
For the past 13 years, Duo Duo Project has worked alongside local advocates in China to create lasting change by supporting grassroots animal welfare efforts, inspiring young people through humane education, training veterinarians in modern spay and neuter techniques, and helping build a more compassionate future from within. Thanks to your support, that future is getting closer.
Together, we can end the Yulin Dog Meat "Festival" and the dog and cat meat trade behind it for good.
