Plexi-Glass Shields at Woolworths Checkouts

We've escalated our campaign for safe workplaces and the COVID-19 sixth claim for safe workplaces. A whole lot more needs to be done - which we wrote to the major supermarkets about over the weekend - and this is a start.

"Shoppers at Woolworths will soon have their groceries handed to them from behind a screen, with the supermarket giant implementing drastic new social distancing measures across its stores.

The company announced today its 995 stores across the country would have large plexiglass screens installed as an additional safeguard for shoppers and cashiers against the pandemic.

Two stores in Sydney, Town Hall and Kellyville North, have already had the screens installed, with the rest to be rolled out over the coming months."
