The Trees of Peterborough Facebook group are calling a meeting / protest march at the tree on blind lane at 11AM on Saturday 25th September.   This is expected to last for around an hour or so, it being arranged to have a chat about the next steps we need to take and as a show of support for saving the ancient oak tree. We have arranged for the media to attend so you have a chance to be in the photographs! There will be the option not to be in the pictures if you so wish. Please join the facebook group "Trees of Peterborough" for more details.

Please come if you are able , there is plenty of parking in Ringwood and blind lane. There is a bus stop nearby on Bretton way. We really need to show Peterborough City Council that we will not be dictated to and just stand by while they fell trees as a precaution because their lawyers want an easy time of it.  We must stop the destruction of our environment and try to keep Peterborough a green pleasant place to live.

Please do not forget if we had not stopped them in the past we would have lost South Bretton playing fields to the council's plans to build houses and we would have lost the lido because it wasn't making a profit for the council!

We hope to see you on the 25th!   #stopthechoppeterborough.
