We are doing so well everyone!
A lot of people have expressed their dissatisfaction with Justin's response on the radio so as a voice for those who have contacted me, Justin implied that the staff and the volunteers have been involved in the year long review of the closure of Heydon.
THIS IS NOT THE TRUTH.
The staff and volunteers have only been involved for just over 30 days when the redundancy packs were released.
A good point that has been raised has been that by closing Heydon and increasing fostering the long term impact of intensive travelling on the animals and constant relocating is going to be a very negative impact. The animal welfare aspect of animals staying Heydon, whilst it may not be a home, is a secure, safe and singular space for an animal.
It is also worth mentioning again that the setting up of a foster network is going to be implementing a lot of inexperienced and likely unqualified staff who will not have the experience and knowledge to be able to identify health and well being issues with the animals that they will be collecting and caring for.
Heydon again acted as a hub for new and old members of staff to integrate, share knowledge and experience and overall better the care of the animals on site.
I and many others still strongly feel that these are more aspects that have been overlooked by the Wood Green staff.
