Thank you, Honorable Prime Minister

It is great hope that we note The Honorable Prime Minister Kamla Persad- Bissessar's recent announcement that she is going to overhaul the medication approval process in Trinidad and Tobago. 

We absolutely agree that if a medicine has already had thorough vetting by an international agency like the US FDA, it is unnecessary to vet this again locally. This will allow urgent medications (not just HRT) to be locally available and also encourage affordable, but still excellent and safe drugs into the country. It cannot be overstated what a difference this commonsense approach will make to the health and wellness of our population.
