As a women veteran myself, I wish someone would have told me I would have to watch my back from people I would be serving with. I wish someone would have told me that leadership would not believe me if I spoke up against one of them and even if they did, they wouldn't know how to deal with me as a woman if I bring up sexual assault or rape so I would just be moved MOS and units.
If you're response to this is "that's why women shouldn't serve in the armed forces" You're part of the problem in today's society. This isn't the 1800s and it's crazy, but some women (like me) actually want to serve their country alongside honorable men.
Stop making excuses for poorly raised sons and start making them accountable for the sake of our daughters futures!
