Baig (2021, June 3) says that “Most of the women interviewed for the report were coercively sterilized between 2005 and 2010. The committee says it is aware of a case of forced sterilization as recent as in 2019.”

“Persons deemed ‘mentally defective’ were not alone as targets — Eastern Europeans, as well as Inuit, First Nations and Metis people, were also disproportionately targeted and sterilized,” the report says (Baig, 2021, June 3).

“There was ‘a climate of racism and paternalism leading to the view that sterilization was for some women’s own good,'” Stote says in the report (Baig, 2021, June 3).

The conclusions confirm Canada is torturing Indigenous women through forced sterilization, NDP MP Rachel Blaney said in the House of Commons (Kirkup, 2018, December 7).

“Do the Liberals not understand that this is a stain on our country, a stain on every one of us in this House?” she said during question period. “Why are the Liberals tolerating forced sterilization of Indigenous women?” (Kirkup, 2018, December 7)

“Forced sterilization is a gross violation of human rights and First Nation rights and it must be criminalized to help bring an end to this inhumane practice,” Assembly of First Nations National Chief Perry Bellegarde said in a statement (Kirkup, 2018, December 7). “We need to implement the recommendations by the United Nations to stop this, and we need justice for the victims of this immoral practice.”

Torturing/forcing/coercing are wrong in Canadian Health Care whether UNBC has targeted some of the nursing students or some women also have forced/coerced to particular procedure and traumatized/ruined their lives.

 Another federal election is on September 20, 2021 while the previous federal election was only on October 21, 2019. Trudeau with his Liberals have been eager to get more power, but do they care about people in Canada?
