Dear Supporters,

We have some exciting news to share! Our collective voice for equality in vehicle safety has been heard.

A new standalone bill, She Develops Regulations In Vehicle Equality and Safety Act (She DRIVES Act) has been introduced in the US Senate by Senators Fischer (R-NE), Murray (D-WA), Blackburn (R-TN) and Duckworth (D-IL) that directly addresses our concerns.

This groundbreaking legislation will:

  1. Require the use of female crash test dummies that actually represent female anatomy
  2. Mandate the same number and nature of crash tests for females as males in the government’s New Car Assessment Program (NCAP) tests

This is a significant step towards ensuring that safety measures in vehicles are not biased towards any gender.

So far, the National Highway Transportation Safety Association (NHTSA), the agency in charge of crash testing standards, has only said it will make female dummies ‘optional.’

Currently, only men are tested in the driver’s seat in frontal and side impact NCAP crash tests.  And in seating positions where old, scaled-down male dummies are used currently to represent women.

This bill makes it clear that women’s safety is not optional.

The introduction of this bill is a testament to the power of our collective voices. It shows that when we stand together for a cause, we can bring about change.

However, our work is not done yet. We need to ensure that this bill becomes law.

We urge you to continue supporting this cause. Share this petition with your friends, family, and social networks and help show that women’s safety is not optional, it is necessary. Let’s keep the momentum going until we achieve equality in vehicle safety for all.

Thank you for your continued support.
