Students who work late on top of the hill have difficulty eating nutritional and  affordable food. Many art and science students have rehearsals or lab hours that run late into the night. They usually have a very small window of time in between classes and the start of rehearsals every night. For this reason it is nearly impossible for students to walk all the way to the bottom of the hill, wait in long lines, and make it back to the top of the hill during their break. Given the fact that Garret Subway now closes at 5pm, the only options available to these students are TopperGrill and Panda Express. Although TopperGrill and Panda Express are open until 8pm, the variety of healthy, affordable, and vegetarian food options are limited and most of them are not on MealPlan. For this reason, we would like to petition for the Garrett Subway to extend its hours to 8pm. Subway offers a variety of healthy options on MealPlan and allows students to better control what they eat without taking away from their schedule and academics. If you are a WKU student who feels they would benefit from extending the Garrett Subway's hours, please sign this petition so that we can better assess the popularity of this idea and weigh it against the economic practicality for the university.
