The "School of Journalism & Broadcasting" is about to be no more. It took a long time for the gem of WKU's journalism-related programs to get their name in the school's name. Going to a "journalism school" is a bit like the prestige of going to a "film school" or "medical school" or "law school" or "business school." If you make it simply the "School of Media," it erases the critical importance of journalism. This is not the year to be doing that. Perhaps the School of Journalism and Media. Perhaps in another 10 years, the School of Media would make more sense. But, for now, please do not remove "Journalism" from the name of the school while any changes are being made. We, the concerned students and alumni of the journalism department at Western. Thank you for your consideration.
