Why didn't we hand in the #boycottthehumanzoo petition on Saturday? Firstly thank you to everyone who came out in support of the #boycottthehumanzoo campaign on Saturday. We came in Spirit and most certainly brought the noise. The speakers were on point, we were peaceful and there was no trouble at all. From us that is. The Barbican had agreed in a board meeting on Thursday 11th to have a senior member of the Board take the petition from us. On Saturday they wanted us to give it to their Head of Security, who displayed an unbelievable level of hostilely towards us. We were NOT prepared to hand it to someone who is not a decision maker at the Barbican. Especially when the CHAIR of the board, who we meet with, was looking down at us from the Balcony and was on the Barbican premises. Therefore we have another date for the Petition Hand In. Tuesday is the opening night for Brett Bailey’s play “Macbeth” at the Barbican - so we will picket and protest again. AS MANY CAN COME OUT PLEASE DO!! DATE; TUESDAY 16TH SEPT TIME: 5PM HAND IN – 6PM PROTEST WHERE: BARBICAN SILK STREET. Please check out website for further information: http://boycotthumanzoouk.com/
