Killing Rural Texas Williamson County has a proposal called the Williamson County Long Range Transportation Plan which will lead to the demise of all these things we citizens hold dear.  The community directly touching the proposed routes for the A1 and E1 corridors is one of farmers. Their heritage, way of life, livelihood, and communities of family's homes will be decimated. By the time the County is finished, maps show every area within the County that isn’t already developed will be scarred with a superfluous collection of roadways, thus raising fears of the return of the Trans Texas Corridor. This end of life as we know it may start at the corner of FM 1660 and FM 3349, but it will soon impact everyone in Williamson County. Where will the county get the land to put these super highways? The answer is one of the most frightening practices allowed and encouraged by government in the US: eminent domain. By being responsible stewards of the land, we have unwittingly had a target and expiration date placed on us by those who stand to profit. This is a mock up to scale of the ROW they want to take in the proposed area of farmland. There are 2 separate controlled access corridors, A1 & E1, that each have these destructive plans over heritage farms. www.wilcoroadkill.org
