Oh FFS why do you think?

Shatner has changed the Universe as we know it, Jim. Isn't that enough? What more do people want (apart from Shatner's show touring the UK, that is)?

Of course Bill wasn't just Captain Kirk. But let's face it, Kirk is the reason we all know Shatner. And Shatner filled the boots well - and became the face of the space-age era for a generation of television watchers; it was his charisma in Star Trek, (along with his trusty Vulcan sidekick Leonard Nimoy) that stole the show and won our hearts over to an unlikely-looking series about people trekking the cosmos in a big old spacebucket.

Now that Voyagers 1 and 2 are clear of our Solar System and we are getting back pics from Pluto, Charon and the Oort Cloud regions, it seems like a fitting time to see, and hear, the lifestory of the man who sat in the Big Captain's Chair and made it all come together. And watch quite possibly the greatest (over) actor of our age.

We'll do a big sun-dance to chase away the crappy British weather, order a few kegs of Molson's, get some Tim Horton's donuts flown in. A proper home from home. He'll love it here. Spread the love to Britain Bill! You know you want to.
