Re :- Public Meeting 23/09/2015 - The Fleece Hotel planning & licensing.
Meeting held at St Thomas' & St Luke's Church Community Hall.
I chaired the meeting.
Approximately 50 concerned residents attended the meeting. No councillors attended the meeting. All apologies given.
The meeting unanimously expressed opposition to the proposed nightclub and the allocation of the extended license to Fleece Hotel until 4.30 am.
The meeting noted opposition to the proposed nightclub by Ashton Residents Association, Cllr Nigel Ash, Cllr Don Hodgkinson, former Ashton Councillor Paul Tushingham & parishioners of St Thomas' & St Luke's Church.
I can confirm Ashton Councillor Cllr Jenny Bullen is also opposed to the proposed nightclub.
The meeting noted the license given to Fleece Hotel until 4.30 am.
It was unanimously agreed this was unacceptable/inappropriate for our community.
It was unanimously agreed that I will be submitting an application to Wigan Council on behalf of the local community to have the license of the Fleece Hotel reviewed as follows :-
Serving of alcohol to 1.00 am.
Entertainments live music and recorded music to 11.00 pm. This decision was made to support local residents who live with excessive noise perpetrated by this premises on their live music events.
Full minutes of the meeting will be issued asap.
To date :-
Petitions Total - 660 signatures of support.
We are aware of a minimum of 86 formal objections sent to Wigan Council. We know many more have been sent.
It is highly likely a full story will appear in next Tuesdays Wigan Observer. Will keep you posted.
We still need residents to object. For help or advice - email mouldingmichael@gmail.com Deadline just 5 days left - 30th Sept.
Thank you for your tremendous support.
Kind regards
Mike Moulding
