The owners of the Fleece Pub have submitted a planning application to Wigan Council to convert their function room upstairs into a nightclub. They have been given a 4.00 am/ 4.30 am license already. The "landlady" who does not reside on the premises, despite being aware of the unacceptable noise perpetrated from her premises in a residential community, already now has plans to have two premises - a pub and a nightclub - at the same time. It is extremely inconsiderate to the immediate local residential community. It is important as many residents as possible object to the proposals. The issues are noise, no soundproofing, anti-social behaviour, lack of policing, location - residential area, nearby church and its grounds, dangerous road junction and too many licensed premises in a small area, unsuitability of building, intensive use of one building. Keep in mind the function room is rarely used. It is not currently used as part of the pub. You can use one, any or all of the reasons or anything else you feel is appropriate. What is important is that you submit an objection no matter where you live. Objections can be made as follows :- Email to :- planningrepresentations@wigan.gov.uk or you can write a letter to :- Kevin Foster, Places Directorate, Economy and Skills, Wigan Council, PO Box 100, Wigan WN1 3DS You MUST quote the following details :- Application Number - A/15/81175/CU Location - The Fleece Hotel 9-11 Warrington Rd, Ashton in Makerfield WN4 9PL You must also give your name and address. If sending by email you can copy me in at - mouldingmichael@gmail.com I am happy to collect any written enveloped letters to hand deliver to Wigan Council to save postage. Everyone in a household can object but should be done separately as each objection counts. For any advise ring me 07593908699, 01942 538278 or email mouldingmichael@gmail.com Please keep sharing our online petition. Arrangements are being made for the delivery of approx. 2,000 letters to local residents. Can you help in any way even just to get a few signatures on a petition ? Get in touch. I will be arranging a meeting of concerned residents in the very near future. Please help your local and fellow residents by spending a few minutes to submit an objection. Deadline for objections is 19th September. Thanking you Mike Moulding - Local resident
