We live backing on to a large piece of untouched land. This has been this way for as long as I can remember.  Now Seddons have submitted a planning application to Wigan Council to build 98 houses. This land has been home to extensive wildlife i.e. deer, foxes, hedgehogs, bats, newts and many more for all this time. Now contractors have been on the land to eradicate the knotweed in preparation for the proposed build.

The contractors came to spray the knotweed with the controversial herbicide Roundup. This has been proven to cause cancer in humans, with many cases being brought to court in the US. 

The herbicide is also known to cause severe harm/death to the wildlife and pets that ingest the poison. It is killing the food sources and habitats of these animals, many of which are protected.
