Last night, KENS 5 in San Antonio ran a full story on our campaign. The headline said it all: "Stretch of Hill Country highway declared totally inadequate after 13 deaths in past decade."
Here is where things stand right now:
— TxDOT has committed $7 million in federal funding for intersection upgrades on SH 46 West and confirmed a feasibility study is underway for a potential four-lane divided highway. That is a direct result of this campaign and the pressure you helped create.
— Bandera County passed a unanimous resolution declaring this road totally inadequate.
— State legislators are engaged. TxDOT's District Engineer has agreed to meet.
— And four people have been killed at the same GPS location on this road. TxDOT has had those coordinates for years. We are not letting that go.
There is still a long way to go. TxDOT has not committed to a timeline. They have not named the specific intersections being fixed. They have not put a single physical barrier between opposing lanes of traffic at the location where people keep dying.
We need your help to keep the pressure on.

Every signature, every share, every person who sees this story and decides to act — it matters. TxDOT is watching. Our legislators are watching. Let's show them this community is not going away until this road is safe.
Thank you for being part of this.
