The purpose of this petition is to save Do Lee a 10 1/2 year old Jindo dog with no history of aggression that meets all Federal service dog guide lines with documented function as well as many more dogs in Wicomico County. Do Lee is a rare Jindo and protected as Koreas 53rd national treasure. Jindos, such as Do Lee, are known for their loyalty to families and even to babysit. Their loyalty to go thousands of miles to find an owner have led to motion pictures and theme parks resurrected as well as festivals in their honor. Do Lee has visited several hospitals including, Baltimore Veteran’s Administration hospital, Perry Point, Loch Raven and the local Wicomico county hospital Peninsula Regional Medical Center with his doggy brother Mugzy the pug to cheer-up Veterans. Do Lee assists Mr. Crane S. Loveland at home by opening doors and low cabinets as well as to calming his service related PTSD. Do Lee lives with a child and little dogs without any prior incident. 

We have received photographs and letters from military, police and families whom have had interaction or children and babies cared for in DoLees home attesting to Do Lee’s positive nature. Do Lee's attorney, has submitted 8 pages to the county explaining where the county law needs clarification and why Do Lee should come home. Employees of Wicomico county’s Animal Control and Humane Society have taken wonderful care of Do Lee since April (almost 7 months). The Animal Control officers and Humane Society workers play with Do Lee and allow us to visit and have been without incident the extent of the time he has been with them. Even an employee from the Department of Health that had to deem Do Lee by this law has testified to his calm and obedient nature. On top of this, the county is charging $20 a day on top of our legal fees to keep Do Lee there, whether they kill him or not. Many feel the Wicomico County ordinance is too strict and conflicts with the standards the state of Maryland sets for animals. Many citizens and employees of Wicomico County wish euthanasia to be removed all together for animals. The wonderful county employees along with people in the community, hope the county dog laws are rewritten to remove these impacts to families and animal laws. Wicomico County states they are permitted to make their own county law stricter than the state and federal laws and kill Do Lee. Unfortunately, Do Lee was playing with a baby chihuahua that wandered on to his property and allegedly killed it despite conflicting testimony and lack of evidence. Even though extensive positive testimony and photography to Do Lees character was presented to the board, Do Lee was ordered to be killed as vicious animal by a panel of people that never met him in person. Do Lee should not be killed for this reason. Do Lee should be able to live out the few last elderly years of his life with his family.
Do Lee's family is one of the few whom have ever appealed to Wicomico County Circuit Court due to the extensive cost and time. Do Lee's family learned there are over 14 pages of families that have been effected tragically by this law.  On top of it if you do not have $200 within the first 10 days to appeal, your family dog may be put down even if the humane society or animal control workers see the animal is obedient.  Many animals have died due to lack of family funds and lack of clarification of the county law. Do Lee's family hopes Do Lee's pain and suffering may help save many more family pets by asking Wicomico county to remove euthanasia for dogs or in the least go by the state of Maryland’s dog laws for Do Lee and all of us in Wicomico County.
