An Attraction Not A Building

Elevate Wichita: Bring a World-Class Observation Landmark to the Air Capital! Wichita is the Air Capital of the World, but our skyline doesn't reflect our soaring legacy.

For nearly 40 years, the 385-foot Epic Center has stood as the tallest point in Kansas. It is time for our city to take the next natural step forward. We are petitioning the Wichita City Council to support the development of a dedicated, standalone observation attraction—such as an iconic architectural tower or a 500-to-550-foot observation wheel—featuring a public observation deck, restaurant, and boutique shops. Why Wichita Needs This is not an office building; it is a landmark destination designed for families, tourists, and civic pride.

A Common-Sense Scale: A 500-to-550-foot attraction is modest and achievable. It stands just 115 to 165 feet taller than the existing Epic Center. We aren't asking for an overwhelming 1,000-foot skyscraper—just a natural extension of the skyline we already look at every day. Economic Liftoff: Standalone attractions like the Seattle Space Needle or regional observation wheels drive massive foot traffic. This landmark will anchor our riverfront or downtown entertainment district, bringing tourist dollars directly to local restaurants, hotels, and breweries.

The Best View in Kansas: A 550-foot vantage point will maximize our region's greatest natural asset—unobstructed, 30-mile prairie views and unforgettable Kansas sunsets.Sign the Petition Today!
