Fair and Impartial Policing Policy Hearings Last Week

The House Judiciary Committee held a public hearing on FIPP last week.  To ensure racial justice progress from a more holistic perspective in Vermont, we have asked the House Judiciary to conduct a public hearing on Act 54. This encompasses law enforcement policy, training and data collection as well as the Act 54 Task Force and the Racial Disparities in the Criminal and Juvenile Justice System Advisory Panel Implementation. Ask Chairwoman Grad for a hearing on Act 54 Implementation.  

 House Rule 25 gives civilian oversight of law enforcement jurisdiction to the House Government Operations Committee.  We have requested a public hearing on civilian oversight of law enforcement.  Ask Chairwoman Copeland-Hanzsas for a public hearing on civilian oversight of law enforcement in Vermont.
