Stop killing baby bunnies

Stop killing baby bunnies

The Issue

Since August of last year Whole Foods has been testing out their latest pilot campaign to sell whole bunnies at select stores throughout the nation. These rabbits are being raised at farms in Iowa and Missouri and then they are shipped off to slaughter houses at only 8 weeks of age, meaning these rabbits are loosing their lives without a chance to their basic rights of life! So how can it be that a company that prides itself on animal welfare and ethical consumerism can be committing such an atrocity?

Unfortunately that's just the begining...

Currently the production of rabbit meat is a relatively small industry primarily made up of back yard operations that have less than a few hundred animals on any given site. The industry is small because there is little to no demand for rabbit meat in the United States and this is largely due to the fact that rabbits are considered to be household companions by most Americans. These furry creatures have stolen the hearts of countless families and are the third most popular companion animal next to dogs and cats. While the Whole Foods Cruelty campaign recognizes that all animals including cows, pigs, chickens and of course rabbits should live a life free from abuse, we have chosen to fight back against Whole Foods' decision to launch their pilot campaign to sell baby bunnies because if main stream grocery stores start selling our furry friends as food, it has the potential to make the rabbit meat industry grow exponentially. This means more suffering for animals in a world already filled with immense cruelty.

Let's put a stop to Whole Foods' decision to introduce rabbit meat into the mainstream before it's to late!
