I start this petition for the victims of those who abuse drugs. The family members who witness an overdose and can't press charges or prosecute for putting them and other family members at risk of being injured or even the emotional trauma. It is clear to me that The Good Sam Act was put in place to protect those who see someone injured and call for help.  They are not liable if anything goes wrong. But It also protects the abusers. It keeps them safe to walk the streets once they are finished at the hospital. Why can't those victims of abusers have justice? Why can't they press charges? Why can't they help keep those people in jail, and help keep the children safe? This law CAN be changed. It SHOULD be changed. Understand that it was put into place with good intentions. But like everything else, people will abuse that law, and those left to suffer emotionally, maybe even physically if the case is server can not get justice. They can't help protect those around them. That is not in anyway fair to the civilians who called to have a person removed. That is not fair to the children playing down the street. Help this law get changed to not only protect the people this law was meant to protect but to help protect the victims of the ones who abuse the power of this act. 

If this law does not get changed, those who continue to overdose, will go without repercussion of their actions. The danger will still be there. We need to take action, and to stand up for those who are affected by this.
