Join Schumer (D and McCain (R) - Bipartisan call for Special Committee on Cyberwarfare
The Issue
Senator John McCain has pointed out that there is no policy with strategies of how to handle cyberwarfare that is disruptive enough to influence and determine the outcome of our elections. Such a panel would investigate how the 2016 election was affected by cyberwarfare and establish position statements, and develop appropriate responses to this and future attacks. He makes it clear that such a step is necessary to prevent interference in future elections, and to protect our democracy.
We also know this to be a real threat around the world as similar occurrences have taken place recently in other elections. These actions go against the principle of self rule.
We cannot allow foreign actors to be the deciders of the direction of our country. WE ARE THE DECIDERS!
