SUBJECT - CALL FOR DEMOCRATIC REFORM AND JUSTICE IN TAIWAN
Dear UN Secretary-General Guterres,
On behalf of concerned overseas Taiwanese individuals and supporters of the "Save Taiwan: A 911 Call for Democracy and Justice" petition, I write to you today to draw attention to the urgent and critical internal challenges that Taiwan faces. Although Taiwan continues to be excluded from the United Nations as a full Member State, the current situation calls for your consideration on a different, yet equally important matter.
The Taipei Prosecutor’s Office has officially filed charges against Dr. Ko Wen-Je, recommending an outrageous 28-year sentence despite lacking substantive evidence such as monetary flow to justify their accusations. This action exposes the Taipei Prosecutor’s Office as a tool for political suppression rather than a defender of justice. (PST 6pm 12/25/24 )
We call on the United Nations to recognize this internal crisis and support Taiwan in upholding the values of democracy and justice.
