Oppose declassification of Leisure Land on Vivary Way, Colne by Pendle Council.

If the land is declassified it will allow Pendle Council to sell it for commercial use. Therefore we believe the best use of this land for the town of Colne would be to create a Multi Wheeled Park (skateboarding, skating and BMX biking) as this would:
*Provide recreation, especially for young people and children
*Increase fitness and levels of activity
* Act as a destination to increase the number of visitors to the town
* Form a symbiotic relationship with the adjacent swimming pool and gym run by Pendle Leisure Trust
* Extend Colne's leisure offer and build on the #CoolColne brand
We believe this is the prime site for such a facility in our town, being accessible, close to other leisure facilities and away from residential housing. Our community-led Colne Wheelpark Initiative Group is being mentored by the successful Henley Wheelpark, so we believe we can fund this facility from a range of sources, though we acknowledge this might take some time.
