As of right now, most milk comes from factory cows which produce about 8-9  gallons of milk daily. The numbers don't really have an effect until you realize what it takes to get a cow to start lactating- like most mammals, cows need certain hormones in order to create that milk and their caretakers get these hormones by pumping bull semen into them and other artificial growth hormones and antibiotics during the rearing to increase milk production. These hormones are used to help the cows and increase the amount of milk a farm is able to ship out each day but they have negative effects on humans who consume that milk. People should choose almond milk and other natural products as substitutes.

The government should begin to subsidize the farms that produce almond milk and in turn make it more cost efficient and more readily available for the general population.
