Dec 7, 2018 —
Dear Friends of Westpoint Harbor: We are super thrilled to announce that late yesterday, December 6, 2018, the BCDC unanimously voted to approve the Westpoint Harbor settlement after years of dispute and negotiations. The approved agreement includes resolution of all outstanding issues regarding both development of Westpoint Harbor and maintenance dredging. It is encouraging that in the end BCDC acknowledged that Westpoint Harbor has greatly enhanced the public's access to the San Francisco Bay with 26 acres of pristine bay surface, a mile of pathway to the San Francisco Bay trail, acres of roost habitat for shorebirds and other wildlife, and a state-of-the-art marina. To add to the good news, Westpoint Harbor earlier this week was named Large Marina of the Year 2018 for exemplary business practices that support customers, the environment, and the industry by Marina Dock Age. This success would not have been possible without your letters of support from around the globe and your petition signatures. We hope you visit Westpoint Harbor and stay in touch via Westpoint Harbor's website and social channels. Thank you! photo: Mark Sanders and supporters celebrating the win shortly after yesterday's BCDC meeting adjourned.
