POWERS FOR SECOND REFERENDUM ON SCOTTISH INDEPENDENCE FROM THE UK

Martin KeatingsCairneyhill, SCT, United Kingdom

You will already know I sent you a message earlier today about the fact that our petition had been published on the HM petitions site. What we did not notice at the time was that several key words have been removed. The petition still says "section 30 order" and devolve powers etc so it is perfectly valid and westminster knows what we are talking about, unfortunately a lot of the electorate don't know what a section 30 order is. Several key words have been removed from the text we submitted, namely A SECOND REFERENDUM "ON SCOTTISH INDEPENDENCE FROM THE UK" AS A RESULT OF THIS SUBSTANTIAL CHANGE IN CIRCUMSTANCE" The words "on Scottish Independence from the UK have been removed" from the text Martin submitted. This doesn't change the meaning of the petition for Westminster but it certainly does for the electorate of Scotland who don't know what section 30 is - many believe, as a result, that this petition was about re-running the recent EU referendum and didn't realise it was about having a second SCOTTISH INDEPENDENCE REFERENDUM FROM THE UK. We wanted to clarify the position and ask you to sign for a second scottish referendum. We will be raising the as a complaint, although it will probably fall on deaf ears.
