There have been an increasing number of pro-life/anti-choice/anti-abortion protests with graphic images in the UCC and other buildings on campus at Western University. While these protestors are practicing freedom of speech, the nature of these protests creates an unsafe environment for those with lived experience or who otherwise may be triggered by these protests. Much of the time these protests occur without trigger warnings or support services for those affected.

We propose that protests of this nature should be banned from occurring inside buildings on Western University's campus to ensure a safe learning environment for the entire student population. Those who wish to protest this issue may do so in other areas of the community that are easily avoidable by students to minimize the harm that is done by the nature of these protests.
