We updated you recently about the North West Regional Planning strategies for the next ten years. They are called the Regional Spatial Economic Strategies (RSES). The deadline for submissions is February 8th. Imagine if we all 23,000 of us sent an email? What would happen? Would we be ignored? Why not give it a try. Send an email to rses@nwra.ie by Feb 8th and say this:

The new draft RSES should include the plans for a greenway on the closed railway from Athenry to Collooney in order to protect the route in public ownership. This would be a massive boost to tourism along the Atlantic Economic Corridor. Tourism is one of our biggest employers. The closed railway is highly unlikely to re-open. A greenway will protect the route forever just in case the railway ever becomes possible. Please build this idea into the new Regional Strategies. Thank you.
