A decision by the state government is to split the railway line, providing Coldwater Creek to Lilydale for a train service and Lilydale to Scottsdale as a cycle trail - all this without any evidence of a business plan or economic gain from the cycle lobby.  This is not dead yet as the Legislative Council will be the final arbiter and Launceston Council has yet to debate this issue, keeping in mind that 2/3rds of the line is within the Launceston municipality.  The battle is not lost and we will keep fighting until this harebrained vision by Dorset Council is finally put to bed.
