NO MORE PUPPY FARMS!!!!!

The Issue

If my story can be used in support of this cause then I am happy to tell it Sasha (previously Samantha) came to live with us in April 2016 from a rescue centre where she had been for 5 months, we already had a 4 year old standard schnauzer (male) Sasha is a miniature Schnauzer aged 4. We wanted a play mate for Ollie and Sasha seemed perfect as we were familiar with the bread and she was a similar age.
The poor little girl was terrified of humans if approached she would drop her little head lift up her bum in preparation for mating I'm thinking however seemed to be happy around other dogs and followed Ollie everywhere apart from the living room which she still refuses to enter.
Over the past couple of months she has made huge progress and is even off lead enjoying running around its like everything is an adventure and new experience for her;  she does not play though don't think she knows how!!and we have yet to hear her bark!!!
I have been told she was kept in a cage outside and the only time she saw a "human" or a lead was to be mated or have her babies taken away its no surprise then she's so terrified..............  We have cracked the lead though she now recognises her lead as being the beginning of something fun and although she still crouches in submission she will let you put her lead on to go out and return home.
I still think we have a long way to go before she completely trusts us and feel she will probably always be nervous but I'm so glad we have been able to show her a completely different life and hope we will gain her trust eventually.
I would have appreciated some advice on how best to settle Sasha and feel we have just been stumbling in the dark really not ever sure if what we were doing was correct. Once we had brought Sasha home the rescue centre had little interest even though I have contacted them. I do however understand they have a huge number of dogs to rehome and are probably just relieved when one has left.
Puppy farms are the issue here and if I can do anything to support the fight to make them illegal and close them down I'm happy to do so
