Petition updateFLUORIDATION: OUTDATED AND RISKY

The village council in Wellington, Florida will be holding a public hearing to consider re-starting

The council passed a resolution ending fluoridation by a 3-2 vote in 2014, but recent pressure from local dentists and the fluoride-lobby has resulted in the council reconsidering the practice. The new resolution would require the water department to artificially increase the fluoride levels to 0.7 parts per million using contaminated industrial waste. If you live in or near Wellington, work there, or visit, please attend the public forum to voice your opposition to adding fluoride chemicals to the drinking water. Council members especially need to hear from medical, scientific, legal, and engineering professionals. Your opposition, expert advice, and testimony could easily mean the difference between success and failure. They also need to hear from those who have been negatively impacted by fluoride. Our government has admitted that they’ve overexposed at least 41% of adolescents to fluoride, resulting in dental fluorosis and likely a host of other ailments. Studies have also shown that fluoridation is likely linked to higher rates of ADHD, hypothyroidism, and osteoarthritis. If you or your family have felt the impact of overexposure to fluoride, then it’s crucial that officials hear your story since the dental-lobby claims that there are no victims of fluoride. If you cannot attend the public hearing, please express your opposition as soon as possible by email and phone. Please keep the communication polite and focused on the scientific and ethical arguments against fluoridation. Here are the email addresses you can cut and paste into the “TO” box: agerwig@wellingtonfl.gov, jmcgovern@wellingtonfl.gov, mnapoleone@wellingtonfl.gov, mdrahos@wellingtonfl.gov, tsiskind@wellingtonfl.gov, Here is the phone number for the council. Just call and say, “as a resident I oppose restarting fluoridation and would like the council to be notified of my opposition.” (561) 791-4146 If you would like to get involved with the local Wellington Village campaign opposing fluoridation, or have any questions, please email Charlene Arcadipane: chararcadipane@aol.com
