The Wellesley Township Council members have invited members from both inside and outside the community to reach out to them with their concerns... Please take them up on their offer to open up the discussion!

Send your emails (addresses below), highlighting your concerns around issues such as: 

• Will an extended moratorium (10 years) be placed on the approval of all new kennel applications?
• Will the bylaw review take into account public recommendations and feedback, and ultimately align with the “Code of Practice for Canadian Kennel Operations”, the industry standard, as written by the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association?
• Will the kennel inspection process be reformed to include unscheduled, quarterly inspections by a trained, third party inspector, who will also have the means to ensure that all bylaws are suitably enforced?
• Is Council willing to provide greater transparency with regard to licensed kennels in Wellesley Township – particularly in matters relating to inspection reports, vet records, or community complaints?
