We are so happy, excited, and tremendously grateful but most of all……we are hopeful. As I write this, the little petition that could just surpassed over 1,300 signatures! And we are just beginning! But we need your help. The intention of this petition is to send a clear message to the Town Council of Wellesley, Ontario that it is time for action. Immediate action:

• Halting the issuance of any new kennel licenses 
• Once reinstated, the new kennel licence application process will be thorough, transparent and unbiased 
• Kennel by-laws will be aligned with the Code of Practice for Canadian Kennel Operations prepared by the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA) 
• Adequate, transparency and unbiased kennel by-law enforcement
• Transparency of kennel conditions and welfare reports with the residents of Wellesley Township

None of this is possible without you!! It is your voice and your pen that can make this happen. To ensure the dogs in licensed kennels here in Wellesley will be treated humanely, will be healthy, and have a quality of life much improved than what is experienced now. Our desire is that there are no commercial dog breeding businesses. But while that fight continues, we can make changes right now that will ease the suffering and distress commercially bred dogs experience every day. Please help us, help the animals.
